The Cheltenham Gold Cup is the “Blue Riband” of the Cheltenham Festival, run on the fourth day. It is the most prestigious National Hunt race. It is a Grade 1 National Hunt hurdle race open to horses aged five years or older. The race covers a distance of around two miles and two and a half furlongs over twenty two fences.
The current champion is Lord Windermere who won the 2014 race at 20/1.
The total prize fund in 2015 is £550,000
