9/1 For Another 2-1 Win

Live on BBC2 Scotland: Sat 18.30: Scotland are 9/1 with Skybet to repeat their 2-1 victory against Liechtenstein, this time away from home.

Scotland resume their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign at Liechtenstein on Saturday where they have been made Stan James’ red-hot 2/7 favourites.

Liechtenstein’s only win of this qualifying campaign may have come at home against Lithuania in June, but Craig Levein’s side demonstrated by winning in Wales that they are capable on the road these days – in the process pointing up a possible one-goal margin victory here at Ladbrokes’ 11/4. More accurate types looking for a repeat of their 2-1 home win over Liechtenstein last year, however, can get 9/1 via Skybet, while a more sedate 1-0 win is chalked at 19/4 courtesy of .

The hosts will have to employ a more attacking policy than what they showed at Hampden Park if wanting to get a result, though, as they failed to earn a corner on that occasion. Even so, punters envisaging a slow-burner may opt for 2.5 match goals or less at Betdaq’s 2.0 (evens), where Partybets post 17/20 for Scotland winning combined with 2.5 match goals or less.

A quiet affair may also lead to just one goal or less being recorded in the first 45 minutes at Boylesports’ 4/9, though some may punt the first goal to arrive after the 24th minute at Paddy Power’s 10/11. Alternatively, Totesport quote a best price of 19/10 for both sides entering the break inseparable, while bet365 chalk 8/13 for the visitor’s winning the second half alone.

With question marks over Kenny Miller taking part, there could be value in Brighton’s ‘in-form’ Craig Mackail-Smith notching the opener at Sportingbet’s 4/1, while the returning Steven Naismith is another option at bet365’s 5/1.

Those happy for Levein’s men snatching a draw in order to keep tabs on the Czech Republic in second spot can take big odds of 5/1 for the stalemate (Sportingbet), while a tight match in which both halves to finish level is 17/2 (Betfred).
