Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Thursday; he has singled out Hollow Tree in the 2.20 at Bangor-On-Dee.
Donald McCain’s runners are always worth a second look at Bangor-On-Dee and the local trainer can saddle the winner of the opening juvenile contest, with hurdling debutant Hollow Tree (2:20).
The Beat Hollow gelding won a couple of Sandown handicaps over 1m6f when last seen on the level during July and the former Andrew Balding trained three-year-old stays really well, which bodes well now he switches codes.
The form of his latest success could hardly have worked out better, with runner-up Slight Advantage winning next time, third home All My Heart has won all three subsequent starts, the fourth Manifestation won next time, and Gottany O’S (fifth) has won two of his three subsequent outings.
Up to a mark of 80 after that latest success, Hollow Tree could well make up in to a useful jumper for his new connections.
