Live on BBC 1: Sat & Sun 13.00: Fernando Alonso is a good bet at 5/1 (Betfred) to win the Singapore GP and hold defend his 2010 win.
Sebastien Vettel could wrap up the title race this weekend but he may have to wait a little while as Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton duke it out on the Singapore street circuit.
The two drivers have won all of the modern incarnations of the GP; Alonso is 5/1 with Betfred to add to his 2008 and 2010 title while Hamilton is a slightly shorter 4/1 (Sportingbet) to take it back after winning in 2009. Sebastien Vettel is a short 13/10 with Skybet to win.
The downforce will suit the Ferrari and McLaren more and with Hamilton able to pull out fantastic drives on street circuits and Alonso being one of the best drivers in F1, the race will surely be between these two. Alonso is a very interesting 8/1 with Blue Square to take pole position, something he did last year, which will greatly reduce his 5/1 quote for the race. Skybet make him 9/4 to get on the front row.
Jenson Button has been driving very well of late and William Hill make him 8/1 to win but it is more realistsic that a podium will be the best he can achieve; something Betdaq make a 2.1 (11/10) chance. Alonso should interest short odds backers by being 4/5 (Paddy Power) to finish in the top 3.
Alonso can have the maximum points this weekend and help his quest to finish runner-up in the drivers championship, something Paddy Power currently make him 9/4 to do.
