Southampton are Betfred’s 8/11 favourites to win their Championship contest against Birmingham, but City could force a draw at St Mary’s.
Birmingham are huge underdogs at 4/1 with as they head to high-flying Southampton, 8/11 favourites at Betfred. It’s easy to see why; Saints have won five out of six while City have made a far less convincing start, however Chris Hughton’s men will take heart from their 3-0 victory over Millwall last weekend, a performance that suggested Birmingham are starting to find their feet and they will also be encouraged by the fact that the hosts were pushed all the way by struggling Nottingham Forest a week ago.
Nigel Adkins’ men showed enough vulnerability in that one to suggest that Ladbrokes’ 11/4 for the spoils to be shared is the best bet at St Mary’s and punters looking to take that further can tackle Boylesports’ 6/1 for it to finish one-each.
