Richard Hannon is the 11/8 favourite to hold onto his Flat trainers’ championship ahead of Henry Cecil (5/2), according to Coral. Aidan O’Brien is 11-4 as the season enters it’s final phase.
“Henry Cecil and Aidan O’Brien may appear to hold the Champions Day aces in Frankel and So You Think, but Richard Hannon has established a decent lead over his rivals, and will not relinquish his title easily, while John Gosden cannot be ruled out after his King George and St Leger wins,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Champions Day is held at Ascot next month and looking ahead, French-trained Cirrus Des Aigles is being backed for the Qipco Champions Stakes, and is now into 6/1 from 10/1 with Coral for the ten-furlong contest.
Coral’s David Stevens added “Since finishing second to the Arc favourite, Sarafina, in June, Cirrus Des Aigles has won three Group races in France, and punters clearly feel the gelding can be a major player on Britain’s richest raceday,”
