Worcester stages a decent little novice chase for the time of the year on Tuesday and Nearby (3:40) is fancied to land the prize on his first start over fences.
Though he’s not the biggest and he hails from the Flat, the same can be said of his main market rivals, and he was easily the best of these over hurdles.
A rapid improver in the early part of last season, when he completed a hat-trick in Wincanton’s Elite Hurdle, a clear round on debut should suffice for the seven-year-old who finished third in the County Hurdle off 149 in March.
