Live on Skysports 2: Tue 19.45: Giuseppe Rossi is 10/3 (Ladbrokes) to open up for Villarreal against Odense while Bayern head to Zurich.
In the Champions League playoffs, Villarreal pretty much did everything away at Odense BK last week apart from put the ball in the net, a late error from Zapata gifting the Danes a slender 1-0 lead from the first leg.
Back at El Madrigal, the Yellow Submarine are just 1/4 with Skybet to win but on last week’s showing, Valencia should have plenty of the ball. Odense can rule out any thoughts of snatching a win (14/1 with bet365) so the best they can hope for is a draw, 11/2 with Unibet, which would see them through to the group stages.
Villarreal went through large swathes of last season without conceding at home (they conceded only 2 more than Real Madrid at home) and they should be looking win to nil, 10/11 with Skybet. Another very attainable target is winning by at least 2 goals (or more), something Stan James price up at 4/5 while Paddy Power have 21/10 about a Villarreal win by 3 or more. The last bet is speculative but could be very real should Nilmar and Rossi find their stride.
Giuseppe Rossi was a constant thorn last week and he is 10/3 with Ladbrokes to open up the scoring and set Villarreal on to what could be a strong win.
Bayern Munich head to Zurich as Coral’s 4/7 favs but the German side, sitting on a 2-0 lead, will play at a much more tempered pace and lose the services of gifted striker Ivica Olic through injury. The stalemate in Switzerland is much more tempting at 10/3 with Betfred while a 0-0 bore-draw is pretty massive at 14/1 (Boylesports).
Elsewhere, Racing Genk are 6/5 with William Hill to overturn a 2-1 defecit and qualify against Maccabi Haifa, Malmo and Zagreb are 23/10 (bet365) to thrash out a draw while APOEL are 5/6 () to beat Wisla Krakow.
