United strikers Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney head the top scorer market; they are 17/2 (Totesport) and 9/1 (William Hill) respectively.
The young Man United striker enjoyed a great debut season at Old Trafford, netting 20 times, and is 17/2 market leader with Totesport to notch the most Premier League goals. The Mexican striker should regularly spearhead an improving Man United side and if Sneijder joins Ashley Young in midfield, there is no reason why more oppurtunities to score shouldn’t come his way.
His team mate Wayne Rooney is next in the betting at 9/1 (William Hill) while have put 10/1 on both Fernando Torres and Robin van Persie. The much maligned Torres will have to perform much better this year to stand a chance of lifting the Golden Boot gong.
The prolific Darren Bent is high on the list at 14/1 (Paddy Power) and could be worth looking at each way but the loss of Downing and Young, the top two assist providers for Villa last season, is a major worry. The bookies aren’t convinced Man City have a specific hitman now Tevez appears to be on the verge of leaving; Aguero is 16/1 (Betdaq), Balotelli 25/1 (Betfred) and Dzeko 33’s (Paddy Power).
Luis Suarez could be one to watch at 14/1 with Skybet and Andy Carroll looked in powerful shape but his recurring injury problems leave him as a 20/1 shot with bodog.
