Paul Ferguson has three selections for us at Galway and Goodwood on Saturday; Midday Natural High and Mannheim. Compare odds and bet
With Misty For Me an absentee, the path looks clear for Midday (3:10) to land the Group 1 Nassau Stakes for a third successive season at Goodwood this afternoon.
The five-year-old was a shade disappointing when beaten by Misty For Me in the Pretty Polly Stakes last time, but that was most unlike her and, back on a track she clearly loves, the daughter of Oasis Dream can return to winning ways.
Over at Galway, Dermot Weld broke his own record for the meeting by saddling winners 12 and 13 last night and his Natural High (2:25) ought to take a fair bit of beating in the opening maiden hurdle.
Only seventh behind Fosters Cross in the feature Flat contest on Monday, the son of Sadler’s Wells won a bumper at this meeting two years ago and has since been successful three times on the level.
Later on the card Mannheim (4:30) can land the Ladbrokes.com EBF Maiden, a race Aidan O’Brien won five times between 2002 and 2009.
The Galileo colt ran with a great deal of promise behind a couple of stable-mates at Gowran earlier in the month, where he kept on nicely without being seriously ridden.
He sets the standard for the newcomers and, if he has made the anticipated improvement from debut to race two, he will be hard to beat.
