Live on Skysports 3: Sat 13.30: Defending champ Ross Fisher is now 7/1 at bet365 to win the Irish Open ahead of the third round.
A three-under-par 68 in his second round, kept Ross Fisher in the hunt as he looks to defend his Irish Open title and at the tournament’s half way stage, the englishman retains favouritism having shortened to 7/1 with bet365.
Jeev Milkha Singh consolidated his stunning first round 63 by hitting 70 and he will start the third round at the head of the leaderboard, chalked up by at 9/1 to emerge triumphant. Soren Hansen meanwhile is right up there challenging Singh and Paddy Power have responded to his second round performance by clipping him to 15/2 for overall victory.
Responding well to his Twitter tete-a-tete with Jay Townsend, Rory McIlroy carded a 68 and ominously for his opponents, the US Open champ is now just 9/1 via Stan James to prevail at Killarney.
Elsewhere, Simon Dyson’s sparkling six-under 65 thrust him into contention on seven-under overall, forcing Boylesports to cut him to 11/1, Simon Wakefield is also on seven-under but priced at a longer 50/1 by 888Sport and late starter Marcel Siem is in to 12/1 at Skybet.
