Live on Premiers Sports: Tues 19.45: At 1/2 with Ladbrokes, Rangers should see off Malmo in the Champions League qualifiers.
Rangers made a stuttering start to the new SPL season on Saturday, drawing with Hearts at Ibrox and they will be hoping for a more convincing performance as they entertain Malmo in the first leg of a Champions League qualifier.
The visitors were runners-up in the competition back in 1979 but Swedish football is considerably less competitive than it was back then and Ally McCoist’s men are a confident selection to edge a step closer to the riches of the Champions League.
The ‘Gers are strong favourites at 1/2 with Ladbrokes, to overcome Malmo and take a first leg lead over to the Swedbank Stadion and although McCoist’s charges won’t quite be firing on all cylinders yet they can also ensure their opponents don’t bag a potentially important away goal.
A win ‘to nil’ for the hosts is a tasty 5/4 at Blue Square and for punters wanting a higher return, Betfred chalk 11/2 against Rangers notching twice without reply. Meanwhile, in attack for the ‘Gers, Nikica Jelavic looked sharp against Hearts and he’s 10/11 (Paddy Power) to strike at any time in this one.
