Live on BBC2: Sat 16.30: Holders Warrington are a tempting 5/6 with Skybet to edge out Wigan in the pair’s Challenge Cup quarter final.
As the Challenge Cup reaches the quarter final stage this weekend, there’s little doubt that the tie of the round is Saturday’s showdown between Super League’s top two Warrington and Wigan at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Home advantage means the Wolves are slight favourites at 5/6 courtesy of Skybet while bet365 post 11/10 against a victory for the Warriors, who benefit from a two-point start in the handicaps at odds of 10/11 (Boylesports).
Naturally, it’s a tough clash to call, both sides are in decent shape, with the hosts having won their last five and Wigan arriving on the back of six straight victories while the pair’s two meetings in 2011 – a friendly and a league game – have produced a triumph for each.
However, Warrington have been unstoppable in this competition over the last couple of years, lifting the trophy in 2009 and 2010 and so they get the nod in what should be a tight affair.
