Cadel Evans was trimmed to 11-10 (from 5-4) by Coral to win the Tour de France after closing the gap between himself and Thomas Voeckler, to just 78 seconds after the yellow jersey wearer rode off course on a tricky descent.
Alberto Contador has also shortened in the betting, to 5-4 (from 15-8) after closing the gap and also being well backed to win his fourth Tour.
“Although the leader board places remain the same, valuable seconds were gained on the leader, and with two tough Alpine stages next and a time trial that will ultimately decide the outcome of this years Tour, it is all very much still to ride for,” said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.
Mark Cavendish remains the 1-8 favourite to win the green jersey, after maintaining his position as the top points scorer in the sprints.
