Coral has trimmed Workforce to 11-8 (from 7-4) favourite for Saturday’s King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, after more support for the Coral-Eclipse runner-up. One time favourite, St Nicholas Abbey, is eased to 9-4 (from 15-8), while Nathaniel, like Workforce expected to appreciate the rain-softened Ascot ground, is 13-2 (from 15-2).
“The support for Workforce, like the Ascot weather, shows no sign of drying up at present, and last year’s Derby winner is sure to start favourite on Saturday, although it’s unlikely he will be sent off odds-on, as he was when disappointing in the race twelve months ago,” reckoned Coral’s David Stevens.
Elsewhere, Hawkeyethenoo is 8-1 (from 10-1) favourite for the Betfair International, following the news that market leader Western Aristocrat will miss the race.
