Paul Ferguson has one selection on Wednesday; Bakoura in the 7.50 (Leic) and also has a tip for the York Ebor. Compare odds and bet
There is an interesting fillies’ handicap at Leicester on Wednesday evening in which Bakoura (7:50) is fancied to follow up last month’s stylish Newbury success.
John Dunlop’s daughter of Green Desert quickened up impressively last time, before which she was being lined up for the sales. It speaks volumes that her powerful connections have kept hold of her and she can defy a 5lb rise.
With Glorious Goodwood and Galway just around the corner, this week continues fairly quietly so I’ve taken an ante-post look at one of the biggest betting heats of the season for those desperate to have another bet.
The Ebor is staged on a Saturday for the first time this season and the one that stands out at this early stage is Quest For Peace, a three-year-old trained by Aidan O’Brien who won a Listed contest last time and looks to be crying out for this sort of trip.
O’Brien won this in 2001 with Mediterranean and has also gone really close with similar types, Honolulu and Changingoftheguard, in recent seasons.
Currently trading at 12/1 if he is given the go-ahead Quest For Peace is bound to be trading a lot shorter in a month’s time.
Wednesday’s selection:
7:50 Leicester Bakoura 3/1 (Paddy Power / Hills)
Ante-Post selection:
Ebor Handicap (York, 20 Aug) Quest For Peace @ 12/1
