Frankel is the 4-5 fav with Coral for next week’s Sussex Stakes, after the colt pleased connections in his final piece of serious work before the ‘duel in the downs’ at Glorious Goodwood. His elder rival, Canford Cliffs, is 11-8 with Coral for a repeat win in the mile showpiece.
“Both camps seem happy with their charges, meaning it’s all systems go for the ‘duel on the downs’, and at this stage we are firmly behind the year-younger Frankel to maintain his unbeaten record. As a result, we are happy to accommodate Canford Cliffs fans at the top price of 11-8,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Elsewhere, Nathaniel is 15-2 (from 9-1) for Saturday’s King George, while St Nicholas Abbey has been eased to 15-8 (from 7-4), leaving Workforce as clear 7-4 market leader.
“We’ve seen some decent support for Nathaniel to fly the flag for the Classic generation in Saturday’s big race, but by contrast, backing for St Nicholas Abbey has all but dried up, and Workforce looks certain to start favourite now,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
