Nathaniel is a 9/1 shot with Betfred after being supplemented for Saturday’s King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot where a total of seven horses have been declared at the five-day stage.
St Nicholas Abbey has been eased slightly to 6/4 (from 11/8) after Workforce was left in and last year’s Derby and Arc winner has been cut to 2/1 (from 3/1) as it becomes increasingly likely that he will take part in the all-age showpiece.
“St Nicholas Abbey has been favourite for the King George since his last-gasp victory in the Coronation Cup but his position at the head of the market could well be in jeopardy as there looks certain to be plenty of support for both Workforce and Rewilding in the run-up to the race,” said Betfred spokesman George Primarolo.
Rewilding is next in the market at 3/1 whilst multiple Group 1 winner Midday is a 20/1 shot. The field is made up of Seville and Debussy who have been priced up at 33/1 and 66/1 respectively.
Looking ahead to the totesport Ebor next month, there has been plenty of support for the Brian Ellison-trained Saptapadi over the past twenty-four hours and he is now a 12/1 shot (from 16/1) with Betfred.
