Paul Ferguson has two tips for us on Wednesday; Geneva Geyser (6.10 Worc) and Spice Bar (8.10 Worc). Compare odds and bet
With the July meeting getting underway at HQ tomorrow, Wednesday’s Flat action is once again rather mediocre so attention is turned to the decent jumps card that Worcester stages this evening.
The opening novice hurdle looks a match between the top two, with preference for Geneva Geyser (6:10) who made an impressive debut over hurdles at Fontwell last month.
The five-year-old was a five times winner on the level and may have too much pace for Carabinier, who benefited from a tremendous ride from Tony McCoy last time.
If the champion misses out in the opener, he should make amends later on with AP having a strong book of rides throughout the card.
Recent Ffos Las winner Black Jack Blues looks his obvious chance in the novices’ chase and he should really outclass his rivals here. However, he didn’t totally convince with his fencing on debut, so is best watched at likely skinny odds.
Spice Bar (8:10) is likely to go off a more realistic price and is fancied to follow up his recent Uttoxeter victory under a 7lb penalty. This will be the first time McCoy has ridden the improving seven-year-old, who won with any amount in hand just 10 days ago.
Declan Carroll’s charge is looking for a fourth win from five starts and was trading at 13/8 overnight.
Wednesday’s selection:
6:10 Worcester Geneva Geyser
8:10 Worcester Spice Bar (13/8 Paddy Power)
