Early money suggests Charlton Athletic (8/1) & Crawley Town (3/1) may be in for a good run next season according to Ladbrokes.
Both sides have been the subject of support this summer with decent win and each-way money moving Charlton’s price for League One into 8/1 (from 14/1).
Crawley Town have also shortened to clear 3/1 favourites to win League Two at their first attempt having been a 5/1 chance on promotion.
Higher up the pyramid Manchester United have been backed to retain their Premier League crown (7/4 from 2/1) whilst punters have taken notice of West Ham’s activity in their attempt to bounce back to the top division (9/2 favourites for the Championship from 11/2).
And in a slightly less orthodox off-season gamble Chelsea have been backed into 11/2 for the FA Cup (from 7/1)
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Punters have wasted no time getting stuck into Charlton. We’ve also seen decent money for new kids on the block Crawley as many think they may make an immediate impact.”
he added: “It’s rare to see money for sides in cup competitions at this stage. DiMatteo has form in the competition so that may have something to do with it.”
