Petra Kvitova came through her quarter with Tsvetana Pironkova in mixed style; at times her power and accuracy was blinding but she looked slightly sluggish when dropping the middle set. Azarenka, by contrast, coasted through against Tamira Paszek but the latter was unseeded.
Paddy Power have 10/11 about Kvitova beating Azarenka in a very balanced match up while Ladbrokes quote 10/3 about her winning overall. Kvitova is still the choice of many a pundit at this tournament and those opposing her can get even money about an Azarenka win with Stan James.
