Paul Ferguson goes for Hired Hand in the 20:50 at Roscommon in Ireland on Monday night. Compare odds
It’s a quiet day of domestic action on the eve of Royal Ascot so, after yesterday’s trip to France for Sunday’s selection, it’s off to Ireland this evening and the concluding maiden hurdle at Roscommon.
With respectable hurdles form in the book Hired Hand (8:50) sets a fair standard and arrives here fit from three spins on the Flat, the pick of which was his second on soft ground at Limerick in April.
Charles O’Brien’s son of High Chaparral has had two starts over hurdles to date and, before that, shaped really well in a couple of decent bumpers. Third to the useful Spanish Treasure on debut, he chased home Steps To Freedom next time and the winner went on to win the Grade 2 at Aintree in April.
Monday’s selection:
8:50 Roscommon: Hired Hand
