The two small-staking totescoop6 winners who were hoping to pick the winner of the bonus race this afternoon were out of luck as 50/1 outsider Burning Thread upset the apple cart in the totescoop6 Scottish Sprint Cup at Musselburgh.
George Marwood, who placed an £8 totescoop6 bet in an Embassy Racing shop last weekend, went for Favourite Girl whilst David White, who staked just £2 in a Ladbrokes shop, plumped for Doctor Parkes but neither could land a blow as Tim Etherington’s gelding held off the late challenge of Verinco to record a length victory.
This afternoon’s totescoop6 also went down to the wire but whilst 40 tickets were still in heading into the final leg, none of them were on Burning Thread which leaves a rollover of £72,599 in the win fund whilst the bonus pot has now reached £323,980.
‘Burning Thread’s 50/1 victory in the Scottish Sprint Cup really put the cat amongst the pigeons as not only did he scupper the hopes of the two bonus hunters but he also put pay to the dreams of the remaining Scoop6 punters in the win pool,’ totepool spokesman George Primarolo told betrescue.com
A total of £207,428 was bet into this afternoon’s pool and there were 256 winners of the place fund, each of whom picks up £162.00.
