With doubts still surrounding favourite Carlton House in this weekend’s Investec Derby, punters have been looking elsewhere in the market and have been siding with an Aidan O’Brien-trained runner in the shape of Memphis Tennessee.
The son of Hurricane Run was last seen when finishing runner-up behind stablemate Recital in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial last month and has been cut to 20/1 (from 33/1) by totesport after persistent support this afternoon.
“The uncertainly surrounding Carlton House’s participation has seen punters look elsewhere for Derby value and Memphis Tennessee has certainly caught the eye of a few who have been supporting him in their droves over the past twenty-four hours,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.

St Nicholas Abbey heads a small but select field for the Investec Coronation Cup and has been installed as the 10/11 favourite by totesport for the 1m4f race ahead of 6/4 shot and main market rival Midday.
Looking ahead to Royal Ascot, there has been more support for Bated Breath in the market for the Golden Jubilee and Roger Charlton’s sprinter is now 8/1 (from 10/1).
