Carlton House has been eased to 6/4 for the Derby by Ladbrokes after punters began to look elsewhere as Derby week got underway.
Her Majesty the Queen’s big race favourite had been backed into 5/4 late last week but punters deserted her horse on Monday morning in favour of French rival Pour Moi.
Andre Fabre’s colt is now into 7/2 (from 4/1) as Carlton House returns to the price he was available at when winning the Dante at York.
David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “We expected the royal bandwagon to start rolling into overdrive this week but the opposite has been true. Carlton House is being overlooked for the time being as punters give the Queen’s favourite a bit of a swerve. Rumours of a slight injury setback have scared the punters away.”
Vadamar continues to shorten in the Derby market – and is now 16/1 (from 20s).
