Paul Ferguson starts the week off with a double from Yarmouth on Monday – Mabroor (5.50) and Whey Sauce (6.55) Compare odds
Yarmouth’s evening meeting kicks off with an interesting novice stakes, in which Mabroor (5:50) is fancied to make it two from two for Mark Johnston.
The Hard Spun colt made a winning racecourse debut at Haydock earlier in the month, when he belied his inexperience in the early stages to run out a tidy winner in the end.
The runner-up has won since and Richard Hills’ mount appeals as the type to have come on appreciably for that first start, while the quicker ground is also in his favour.
Peter Chapple-Hyam’s Whey Sauce (6:55) is also taken to score on the card, with the grey filly having her first start in maiden company.
An eye-catcher on debut last October, when she finished just behind Lingfield Derby Trial winner Dordogne, before finding the Listed Montrose Stakes a bit too much.
She reappeared in the Group 3 Musidora Stakes at York earlier this month and a reproduction of that third ought to be good enough, despite the drop in distance.
Tuesday’s selections:
5:50 Yarmouth Mabroor
6:55 Yarmouth Whey Sauce
