Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Sunday; Jack Cool in the (3.40) at Curragh, the UAE Handicap. Compare odds
The Curragh takes centre stage on Sunday, where the highlights include the Irish 1,000 Guineas and the Tattersalls Gold Cup in which the hugely exciting So You Think makes his second appearance on Irish soil.
The United Arab Emirates Handicap makes more appeal from a punting point of view with in-form hurdler Jack Cool (3:40) racing off an attractive looking mark of 82.
Charles Byrnes’ five-year-old was runner-up at Aintree on his penultimate start before winning a valuable handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse off a mark of 136.
Earlier in the season, the son of One Cool Cat won handicaps off 90, 97 and 114 before winning at Limerick 6 days before he ran at Aintree.
He is clearly on a sharp upward curve and this is the first time that he will have raced beyond 1m on the level, with the extra half-mile very much in his favour.
His sole success on the Flat came in a 7f maiden at Yarmouth, when he was trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam and he can record a second success in this afternoon’s valuable contest.
Sunday’s selection:
3:40 Curragh Jack Cool
