Paul Ferguson has two selections for us today on Saturday, the first from Haydock; Overdose (3.00) and from Newbury First Point (8.15). Compare odds
Finally we get to see brilliant Hungarian sprinter Overdose (3:00) in England on Saturday and the six-year-old is fancied to land the Group 2 Temple Stakes at Haydock.
Defeated just once from 16 career starts, the son of Starborough seems equally adaptable from 5f to 7f and he can take this en route to the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot next month.
Jumps trainer Nicky Henderson does well with his runners on the Flat and he can strike at his local track Newbury with First Point (8:15) in the extended 1m5f Hildon Handicap.
The eight-year-old was last sighted on the level in Germany four years ago, when he won two from three, and he has since developed in to a smart handicap hurdler. Placed in both the Lanzarote Hurdle and the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham off 138, he again ran with credit when sixth at Aintree last time.
A mark of 70 gives him a chance to return to winning ways and Kieren Fallon is an eye-catching booking.
Saturday’s selections:
3.00 Haydock – Overdose
8.15 Newbury – First Point
