Blue Bunting has been cut to 10/3 Oaks fav (from 25/1) by totesport after staying on strongly to take the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Frankie Dettori’s mount swooped late to give the former champion jockey his third victory in the race and connections now have their eyes firmly on the second fillies classic of the season.
“Connections have always thought Blue Bunting to be more of an Oaks filly and they’ll be hoping she can emulate Kazzia in taking the Epsom classic after winning the Guineas,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
Runaway 2000 Guineas winner Frankel has been eased to 3/1 (from 9/4) for the Investec Derby following the news that he will miss the totesport.com Dante Stakes at York in favour of either the St James’ Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot or the Derby itself.
Consequently, his stablemate World Domination has been cut to 5/1 (from 6/1) for the Epsom classic as has Carlton House who is now 11/2 (from 6/1).
“There is still a possibility that Frankel will line up at Epsom though this could be a forlorn hope if any of Khalid Abdullah’s other Derby possibles impress in their trial runs over the next week or so,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
