Live on Skysports 4: Sat 12.15 & Sun 12.30: Motherwell could come away with points at Hearts and Sunday sees a firey Old Firm.
Saturday sees Hearts (5/6, Stan James) host Motherwell (7/2, Totesport) in what could prove a tight encounter, although followers of recent head-to-heads may choose an away win as Stuart McCall’s men have certainly enjoyed matters between the pair.
Indeed, the Well won four of their last seven meetings, in which they won three by a two-goal margin (14/1, Paddy Power), although a narrow 2-1 correct score is well-priced at 14/1 (Betfred). The fact Motherwell walked away from Tynecastle unbeaten in their last three visits, though, may tempt odds-on players into Sportingbet’s 10/11 for them to keep that record in tact.
Fourth-placed Dundee United have finished the season with a bang having won seven of their last nine SPL matches and are value at 10/11 to see off Kilmarnock (13/5, Ladbrokes) at Tannadice.
The big match of the Easter weekend comes on Easter Sunday, however, when the Old Firm clash for the seventh time this season in what is the most important 90 minutes of them all.
The bookmakers find it hard to split the pair in this title showdown, although Rangers at home just swings things for Betdaq, who make the hosts their 2.4 (7/5) favourites, with Celtic on 2.75 (7/4).
However, the Gers have yet to knock the Bhoys over at Ibrox this season, which could see punters make 50% of their investment on Celtic leaving unbeaten once more at bet365’s 1/2 odds. There will be plenty of supporters of the draw at Ladbrokes’ 23/10, although don’t expect a goalless encounter as there was just one in 23 meetings, so Partybets’ 11/2 about a 1-1 stalemate maybe the shrewd bet.
Rangers’ Nikica Jelavic is Coral’s 6/1 jolly to break the deadlock, while William Hill post 7/1 for Anthony Stokes to open proceedings for Celtic.
Hibernian host St Mirren later on Sunday where the sixth-placed side look set for victory, according to Totesport who make them their 5/6 favourites to inflict a third consecutive defeat on them this season.
Aberdeen face a trip to bottom-placed Hamilton on Easter Monday where bookmakers William Hill see them as narrow 7/5 jollies.
The Accies will be no pushover, though, as they are fighting to stay up and displayed spirit when winning at Hibernian last weekend. However, the Dons have beaten their rivals three times this season without conceding a goal courtesy of 1-0, 1-0 and 4-0 scorelines. Another 1-0 victory is 7/1 courtesy of Ladbrokes, although less accurate punters may opt for them winning ‘to nil’ at 13/5 via Partybets.
Inverness need maximum points at St Johnstone if making the top six next month, and that factor may motivate them to victory at McDiarmid Park on Monday at Coral’s 8/5.
The pair last met in February when Caley emerged 2-0 winners, and punters seeking a repeat can avail themselves to Stan James’ 11/1. However, less accurate investors may look to Partybets’ 14/5 for the away side winning either 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0, especially as St Johnstone failed to score in their last four outings.
