Paul Ferguson has fancies the chances of Jenari in the 5.20 at Gowran Park on Sunday. Early price: 5/4 bet365.com. Compare racing odds
After a really busy and enthralling day under both codes yesterday, this afternoon’s action is rather more run of the mill and I’m heading over to Ireland for the day’s sole selection.
Backing a horse in a 23-runner bumper when only six of the field have raced under rules before isn’t always the wisest move, but Jenari (5:20) looked certain to land a race of this nature when finishing second on debut and is worthy of support.
Jessica Harrington’s four-year-old bumped in to a very smart sort in Waaheb at Leopardstown in February and it will be most unfortunate if he is to meet one anywhere near as good this afternoon.
The winner has since completed the hat-trick in a valuable contest at Limerick and both horses came out of the Leopardstown race with great credit.
Being by Milan and being a half-brother to the smart Jered, the selection really ought to improve for meeting better ground and it will take a very good one to lower his colours here.
Sunday’s selection:
5:20 Gowran Park: Jenari
