Ronnie O’Sullivan has been pushed out to 8/1 by Coral to win the World Snooker title following the news that the former world number one is using a sports psychiatrist ahead of the championship that start on Saturday.
The three time world was the 5/1 favourite a month ago, but has been struggling to find his best form all year, and has even threatened to withdraw if he isn’t 100% happy.
“His form is awful and we can’t lay him! The fact that we haven’t taken a bet on him for over a month sums up what our punters think of his chances,” said Coral spokesman Gary Burton, “he will need to beat Dale comfortably before they change their opinion.”
O’Sullivan has also been cut to 7/2 (from 4/1) to exit in the first round to Dominic Dale.
John Higgins is the 5/1 favourite to win, with Mark Selby at 11/2 (Coral). The event starts on Saturday at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
