Live on BBC1: Sat & Sun 08.00: Sebastien Vettel is 13/10 (Stan James) to win this weekend’s Malaysian GP and continue his title defence.
Red Bull got off to a good start in Melbourne, the British based team are just 8/15 with Paddy Power to win the Constructors Championship, and surely go into the long straights of Sepang in good spirits.
Vettel is a dominant race favourite (13/10 with Stan James), ahead of Melbourne runner-up Lewis Hamilton, who is 9/2 with William Hill. Hamilton did very well to push his McLaren round in 2nd place in Australia after fears it would lose out to the Ferraris as well so another podium place for him could tempt at 17/20 (Sportingbet).
Vitaly Petrov surprised a few by fisnihing in 3rd last time out but his Renault could be troubled by Mark Webber’s Red Bull who will surely be looking to improve on his 5th place. Petrov is a pretty massive 9/1 (Boylesports) to finish on the podium again while a top 6 is more likely and quite backable at 5/4 with Ladbrokes.
Jensen Button will be praying for rain as it was he who won in a downpour in 2009. He is an unlikely winner at 10/1 (888sport) and will probably have to settle for a top 6 spot, 4/9 with bet365.
Spaces are running out for Fernando Alonso then and it remains to be seen at this early stage what he can make the Ferrari do. Betdaq have 7.5 (13/2) down for him to win the race but a good look into practice and even qualifying should be reserved for what is potentially a wild card choice. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
Seb Vettel should shine in qualifying, Boylesports having the German as 3/4 fav to be on pole come the race. The power of the Red Bull should really come through in Sepang and this could be a real marker for the season to come and should you want to cover both drivers, Sportingbet have 4/5 against a Red Bull win on race day.
