Reigning champion flat jockey Paul Hanagan is 5/1 with Coral to retain his title, ahead of the start of the new flat season tomorrow. Ryan Moore is evens favourite to regain the crown, with another former champion, Kieren Fallon, the 7/2 second favourite.
“Twelve months ago Paul Hanagan was a 40/1 outsider for the title, but while we’re taking no such chances this time around, we still favour Ryan Moore to win back his crown, and reckon the six-time champion Kieren Fallon could be his closest challenger. With Richard Hughes also on offer at single figure odds, hopefully this year’s race will be as exciting as last season’s,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Elsewhere, Sir Michael Stoute’s Havant has been all the rage for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas, and the filly is now 6/1 (from 8/1) with Coral for the Newmarket Classic.
“Khawlah, only third behind Havant in the Oh So Sharp Stakes, looked good when winning the UAE Derby at the weekend, and with Havant herself reportedly pleasing connections, punters have been quick to show their support, and she could soon replace White Moonstone at the head of the 1,000 Guineas betting, said Coral’s David Stevens.
