The Big Four, Imperial Commander, Kauto Star, Long Run and Denman, are set to dominate market for the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Three totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup winners in the shape of Imperial Commander, Kauto Star and Denman are all set to go head-to-head in this year’s renewal after 14 horses were declared for the Friday’s race but it is the reigning champion who heads the sponsor’s market at 7/2.
King George winner Long Run is next in the market at 9/2 with Kauto Star an 11/2 shot. Denman is currently priced at 13/2 with the sponsors with every other horse in double figures though there has been support for Pandorama who is into 12/1 (from 14/1) as rain threatens to hit Cheltenham later on in the week.
“Last year’s Gold Cup was billed as a showdown between two horses but this year’s renewal is anything but with three previous winners and the young guns headed by Long Run all squaring up against each other,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
“It should be one of the races of the Festival.”
