Paul Ferguson has one selection from Stratford for us on Monday, Remember Now in the 4.10
The news on Sunday that reigning champion Binocular will miss tomorrow’s Champion Hurdle was a huge shock and must have been a massive blow to connections.
Though a 0-125 handicap at Stratford on the eve of the Festival cannot be compared in anyway, Binocular’s half-brother Remember Now (4:10) can give connections a small bit of consolation by getting off the mark at the fourth time of asking.
A keen sort, the drying ground and tight track are bound to suit and the five-year-old looks reasonably handicapped, on a mark of 111, for this handicap debut.
Nicky Henderson’s charge still holds an entry in Friday’s County Hurdle and, while there is no chance of him making the cut for that, it shows that his trainer still believes Remember Now is capable of much better than he has shown to date.
Monday’s selection:
4:10 Stratford: Remember Now
