Troubled Coventry travel to Doncaster on Tuesday and Rovers, powered by Billy Sharp, are a good bet at 23/20 (Betfred) to win.
Coventry have won just one of their last 14 Championship matches and that victory came against a team with 14 away defeats in 18 outings. The Sky Blues were also hammered 4-1 by Bristol City on Saturday, at home, and with star striker Marlon King now suspended following his dismissal in that one, Aidy Boothroyd’s team are worth opposing as they head to Doncaster.
Admittedly, Rovers haven’t been tearing up trees themselves of late but until the 5-2 loss at Leeds, a game in which they were holding their own until the final 15 minutes, Sean O’Driscoll’s side had steadied the ship, registering draws against Norwich and Watford and comfortably beating Derby at Pride Park.
Furthermore, players are gradually returning from injury for Doncaster and Billy Sharp is finding the net again so they have to be fancied at 23/20 with Betfred to collect three points at the expense of beleaguered Coventry.
Despite lying just one place above the drop zone, Crystal Palace have a home record more in keeping with those of teams loitering around the play-off places. The Eagles are unbeaten since October at Selhurst Park, a run stretching back ten games and Dougie Freedman’s men have lost only four of their 17 matches on their own patch this season.
They won’t fear the visit of Cardiff then, especially after the Bluebirds were turned over by Ipswich on Saturday and Palace are definitely in with a chance of upsetting odds of 13/5 () against the promotion-chasing visitors. However, Cardiff are not where they are by virtue of being pushovers so it’s worth playing a touch safer and backing Freedman’s charges ‘Draw No Bet’ at 13/8 with Paddy Power.
