Quinz has seen support for the John Smith’s Grand National today and the Racing Post Chase winner is now 16/1 (from 25/1) with totesport.
Philip Hobbs confirmed yesterday that the seven-year-old would miss the Cheltenham Festival for a crack at the National and this has not been lost of punters who have been keen to back him for the 4m4f event.
‘Quinz’s Racing Post Chase victory means that he is essentially 9lb well-in for the Grand National and this has not been lost on punters who have been supporting Philip Hobbs’ gelding in their droves,’ said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
Looking ahead to the Festival, Qalinas has been a big mover in the market for the Fred Winter and has been cut to 12/1 (from 16/1) by totesport. Celtus has also been trimmed in the betting for the same race and is 14/1 (from 16/1).
There have also been a couple of movers in the Champion Bumper and totesport have cut Ericht to 10/1 (from 12/1) and Cinders And Ashes to 14/1 (from 20/1).
A number of horses have shortened in the market for the Jewson Novices’ Chase following the news that 8/1 shot Hell’s Bay will miss the race. Captain Chris and Wishfull Thinking now head totesport’s market at 6/1 just ahead of Noble Prince at 13/2 whilst Robinson Collonges has been cut to 14/1 (from 20/1) (all totesport).
