Chesterfield roared back into League Two form midweek with a 4-1 win and look a great price at 11/8 (William Hill) to beat Cheltenham.
League Two leaders Chesterfield were well beaten by Morecambe last Saturday but bounced back in impressive fashion with a 4-1 midweek hammering of second-placed Wycombe and the Spireites should kick-on from that result as the season enters the final straight.
John Sheridan’s men head to Cheltenham this weekend and at 11/8 with William Hill they’re a cracking price to overcome the stuttering Robins, whose narrow victory over rock-bottom Stockport on Tuesday ended an eight-match winless streak. That result isn’t enough to convince us that they’ve turned the corner and it’s the visitors that should come out on top at Whaddon Road.
Bury’s impressive 3-0 triumph at Shewsbury nudged the Shakers into third spot and their push for an automatic promotion spot continues this week at Edgar Street where they face Hereford. Alan Knill’s charges are 11/8 favourites at Totesport but the fact that the Bulls have lost just once in eleven games reduces the appeal of that wager and instead it could be prudent to focus on Bury striker Ryan Lowe.
The Shakers’ top scorer has struck in a remarkable eight consecutive matches and the 32-year-old is an alluring 13/8 courtesy of Boylesports to add to his season’s tally of 23 goals at any point.
Stockport’s leaky defence let in another couple last time out at Cheltenham and Oxford should be able to get amongst the goals as they face the Hatters at Edgeley Park. The hosts, who have netted in their last six at home, should also get on the scoresheet against the faltering U’s and as ten of the visitors’ last dozen on the road have produced three goals or more, it’s worth sticking a few quid on the two sides, at 2.0 (evens) with Betdaq, racking up more than 2.5 between them in this encounter.
