Khyber Kim has been cut to 20/1 (from 25/1) by totesport for the Champion Hurdle after a media visit to Nigel Twiston-Davies’ stable.
Nigel Twiston-Davies described him as the ‘forgotten horse’ in this year’s race during a media visit to his stable this morning.
The nine-year-old finished second behind Binocular in the race last year and looked in good order as his trainer exercised a number of his key Cheltenham contenders – including reigning totesport Gold Cup champion Imperial Commander – in front of a crowd of journalists and photographers.
‘Khyber Kim produced a rather lacklustre performance on his last start in the Christmas Hurdle but punters have been keen to back the horse this afternoon after upbeat comments from his trainer and he’s been the latest horse to be backed in what’s been a lively ante-post market so far,’ said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
Champion Court has been popular for the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle this afternoon and has been cut to 12/1 (from 16/1) by totesport. Titan de Sarti has been cut to 12/1 (from 16/1) for the Fred Winter whilst Snap Tie has been nibbled into 20/1 (from 25/1) for the County Hurdle.
