The Midnight Club is the new 12/1 favourite (Totesport) for the John Smith’s Grand National after a fine performance in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
Willie Mullins’ gelding is now 12/1 (from 16/1) with Aintree’s official betting partner totesport after beating Arbor Supreme by a length. The latter has also been cut to 16/1 (from 33/1) for the Aintree showpiece in April.
“The Midnight Club looks to have been given a perfect National preparation by Willie Mullins and he will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Hedgehunter who won the Bobbyjo Chase en route to Aintree glory,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
Elsewhere, Moose Moran has been cut to 16/1 (from 33/1) for the JCB Triumph Hurdle by totesport after winning at Doncaster this afternoon.
