Paul Ferguson has just the one selection for us on Monday; He fancies Alfie Sherrin in the 2.35 at Wetherby.
Despite the fact that he won’t come in to his own over fences until he steps up to 3m Alfie Sherrin (2:35) is fancied to get off the mark at Wetherby on Monday, at the second time of asking.
The son of Kayf Tara, who was a smart but lightly-raced hurdler for Paul Nicholls last term, made his fencing debut in a hot contest at Bangor in November, a track that would not have played to his strengths.
This more galloping venue will be more to his liking and, in receipt of 6lbs from his main market rivals, he is taken to strike for Jonjo O’Neill and AP McCoy.
The selection was trading odds against on the exchanges on Sunday evening.
Monday’s selections:
2:35 Wetherby Alfie Sherrin
