Live on Skysports 4: Sat 12.30: Hearts host Rangers and the Gers arrive as even money favs (Stan James), but perhaps a draw suits.
The first game on Saturday’s SPL menu sees Hearts at home to Rangers, in a match the Jambos would like to make-up some ground on the Glasgow giants.
Stan James make the Gers their jollies at evens, while the hosts are 4.0 (3/1) with Betdaq. Both prices appeal as Rangers are rarely available at evens for an SPL match, while Hearts are 10 unbeaten in the SPL.
But with things sure to be tight, the draw at Betfred’s 12/5 looks the bet as a stalemate occurred on one occasion between them in six of the last seven seasons.
Tomorrow’s big clash at Celtic will reveal how far Aberdeen have progressed under Craig Brown, and Totesport have risked pricing up the Dons at a standout 11/1 to win at Celtic Park.
Aberdeen are now five games unbeaten in all competitions under Brown, and are unrecognizable to the side that lost 9-0 to the Bhoys here in November. In fact, the visitors have conceded a miserly two goals in 450 minutes, and are 9/4 with bet365 to restrict Celtic to just one goal or less.
Kilmarnock are Paddy Power’s 7/5 favourites to see off Dundee United (9/5, Totesport), but those odds need careful inspection as Killie failed to win their last two at home. The visitors, however, have struck up five draws in their last six competitive games, and another point apiece is 12/5 (Ladbrokes).
Punters looking to nail a correct score-draw can also take a standout 6/1 with William Hill for a 1-1 outcome.
Motherwell are evens () to take three points against third-from-bottom Hibernian (11/4, bet365).
The chances of a draw in this one are slim, however, as the visitors have not earned a stalemate on the road, which could see the home side narrow one-goal margin winners at 13/5 (Partybets).
Another punting opportunity here could see the Well net first at 4/5 as Hibernian broke the deadlock just three times in 20 matches.
Unbeaten in six of their last seven competitive matches, St Johnstone have a terrific chance of victory at home to St Mirren, according to Coral, who make them their 4/5 jollies.
Such odds come as no surprise as lowly St Mirren struggled to find the net of late, which adds appeal to Saints winning this ‘to nil’ with Paddy Power at 21/10.
Inverness have now gone eight league games without a win, but have been handed a golden opportunity to get back on the right track at home to Hamilton, where 888sport see all three points going to the hosts at 5/6.
Those are not bad odds considering the Accies are winless in nine SPL outings, and are four points adrift at the bottom. Caley’s home from may have let them down, but they should have too much and can win this ‘to nil’ at 7/5 with Partybets.
