Paul Ferguson has another tip for us in today’s racing, this time at Doncaster; Loose Performer in the 12.35.
Kim Bailey’s Muldoon’s Picnic sets a decent standard in the opener at Doncaster on Wednesday, but it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise in the world if Loose Performer (12:35) was up to the task on his rules debut.
Nicky Henderson spoke kindly of the five-year-old, who is closely related to the same connections’ high-class and ill-fated Bacchanal, in his stable tour and he won a Barbury Castle point-to-point before changing hands for 80,000gns.
Henderson saddled another two winners from just two runners at Leicester yesterday and that takes his tally to 13 winners and 9 places from just 34 runners since the turn of the year.
With his horses in such good order, the Seven Barrows handler couldn’t be introducing this well-bred son of Luso at a better time and a market move would further inspire confidence.
Pay close attention to the second division of the novice hurdle (1:05) and also the concluding bumper (3:55) as both look sure to throw up plenty of future winners.
