Live on Skysports 1: Wed 08.35: In the 1st of two T20’s, the bookies can’t split Australia and England; they are both 10/11 at William Hill.
In something of a clear statement of how far removed T20 cricket is from the Test format, the bookies can’t split two teams who have just completed a lop-sided, five Test series.
England would be an obvious place to start, such was their dominance during that series and infact bet365 are offering as big as even money on the tourists, something the Baggy Greens don’t touch at any firm.
In terms of form, the two last met in the T20 World Cup final last May, which England won, but the teams have changed since then, there’s no Craig Kieswetter for England for starters.
Shaun Tait steps in and looks a decent price at 7/2 (William Hill) to be the top wicket taker for the Aussies while the cooped up Eoin Morgan, who has sat out the last few months, is 6/1 with Ladbrokes to bounce out of the traps and blast England’s top score. Ian Bell also interests at 9/2 (Totesport), he is in nice form.
This really is a hard match to call but with confidence high and a very decent showing in a one-day game against the Presidents XI, England could be the bet to take at evens (bet365).
