The well-backed Synchronised is now 5/1 (from 11/2) favourite with Coral for Saturday’s Coral Welsh National, after further support for AP McCoy’s likely mount today. Second favourite Maktu has also been in demand, and is 7/1 (from 8/1), while last year’s winner Dream Alliance, 14/1 (from 12/1), and runner-up, Silver By Nature, 16/1 (from 14/1), have been easy to back.
“Synchronised and Maktu dominate the betting for Saturday’s race, but it’s the former, with AP McCoy on board, that we really fear. A Welsh National win for the champion would not be as costly as his Grand National success last April, but it would still give punters a great start to 2011,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
