Paul Ferguson brings us two tips to bring in the New Year; Royal De La Thinte (1.15, Punch’town) and Alpine Breeze (2.50, Warwick).
Though she faces no easy task in conceding weight all round Alpine Breeze (2:50) is taken to return to winning ways at Warwick on Friday.
Don Cantillon’s four-year-old won a soft ground bumper on debut and looked really good over 3m on her penultimate start at Ffos Las.
A mistake four out cost her any chance last time, but she is a smart filly in the making and is well worth another chance.
Over in Ireland Royal De La Thinte (1:15) is worthy of support in the 3m beginners’ chase at Punchestown.
Andrew Lynch’s mount twice won soft ground point-to-points over this trip and ran a cracker at Down Royal in November over 2m4f.
Tuesday’s Grade 1 winner, Bostons Angel, got the better of the selection in the closing stages and the third has since won to give the form further strength.
Friday’s selections:
1:15 Punchestown Royal De La Thinte
2:50 Warwick Alpine Breeze
