Paul Ferguson has three more selections for us on Thursday, all at Exeter; Royal Charm (1.50); Scoter Fontaine (2.20); Wymott (3.20)
Rebecca Curtis’s bumper winner Scoter Fontaine (2:20) has shaped well on both starts over hurdles and, having been handed a mark of 117, he can land the South West Racing Club Handicap Hurdle at Exeter on Thursday.
Tony McCoy’s mount looks to have been given a chance by the assessor and he could end the season rated a fair bit higher.
Grade 2 winning hurdler Wymott (3:20) has always been considered a chaser and he made the perfect start over 2m4f at Bangor last month.
The step up in trip should suit and Donald McCain’s six-year-old looked one to follow in the novice division on his chasing debut.
Earlier on the card Royal Charm (1:50) is fancied to land the graduation chase, despite being the most inexperienced runner in the field.
The five-year-old was hugely impressive over C&D last month and, in receipt of weight from three of his four rivals, he can make it two from two over fences.
Thursday’s selections:
1:50 Exeter: Royal Charm
2:20 Exeter: Scoter Fontaine
3:20 Exeter: Wymott
