Rejuvenated Tranmere are a tasty 6/4 with to grab a fifth win in six against Hartlepool at Prenton Park.
A run of four wins in five has carried Tranmere towards the relative comfort zone of mid-table and Rovers look set to continue their recent improvement as they entertain Hartlepool. The visitors are in fairly good shape themselves having beaten leaders Brighton recently but they went down to a last minute penalty at Colchester on Saturday and that will have dented morale in the Pools camp.
Les Parry’s charges can nick it then and they’re an enticing 6/4 with to bag the points while the ambitious can back them at 3/1 (888Sport) to shade it by a one-goal margin.
Four league defeats in five have hampered Peterborough’s promotion bid and the worry for Gary Johnson’s men is that three of those losses have been pretty heavy; 3-0, 5-1 and 4-1 against Brighton, Charlton and Southampton respectively. Those teams are amongst the division’s best but nevertheless, given Posh’s dismal form, mid-table Leyton Orient look somewhat overpriced at 10/3 with Totesport as they head to London Road.
Admittedly, the O’s form on their travels is a worry but they ran out 3-0 winners at Bristol Rovers in their last away match and they shouldn’t be ruled out here.
Bournemouth’s matches continue to produce plenty of goals and their tally of 23 in eight home games is the best in League One. This week their prolific attack comes up against one of the worst defences, that of Yeovil, and it doesn’t take a mathematician to work out that a dangerous attack up against a leaky rearguard should spell goals.
The Glovers lie just a point from the foot of the table and it’s hard to envisage anything other than a Cherries triumph, at 3/4 (William Hill) but that potential home win can prove more profitable when combined with a goal tally higher than 2.5 at odds of 8/5 courtesy of Partybets.
