There is a decent novices’ hurdle at Ffos Las this afternoon, where Do You Job faces Truckers Pass. Both horses showed plenty of promise last term, and although the latter could be the sharper of the pair over this trip, I’m not sure that he wants a real test in bad ground, so Brendan Powell’s mount might prove difficult to pass.
I’m prepared to watch that race and see how it works out, whilst at Exeter Runswick Bay (2:00) can take the extended 2m2f novices’ hurdle. Emma Lavelle’s five-year-old looked a nice prospect when winning a bumper at Wincanton on debut, and it was surely too bad to be true on his second start at Warwick. Not many horse got into that race, so he can be given another chance, and he might be up to the task on debut.
